Q105's First Annual Old School Prom!

Atlantic Coast Entertainment made it happen !!!

On May 9, 2008 our local radio station Q105 hosted their first annual Old School Prom in the Grand Ballroom at Foxwoods Casino with entertainment provided by Atlantic Coast Entertainment and the band Sugar. This event kicked so much butt they were turning people away at the door! It was an event like no other and the only way to get in was by invitation only. Were you there? If you weren't you missed out on the craziest party of the year. When we say we provided Q105 with entertainment, we don't mean a simple jukebox setup with a mixer and two speakers... We had a 70's style disco ball with 80's style dance lighting and truss, all candy coated with current LED lighting and topped it all off with an Austin Powers "Hot Oil Lamp!" (Yeah Baby!) As for special FX, the bubble machine with the strobe cannons set the stage for lots of high energy dancing, music videos on a New School 6'x8' video screen, and the infamous DJ E.R.V. mixing up the Old School music of the 70's, 80's and 90's. Although most of the people that came had graduated in the 90s, the costumes from the 80's flooded the dance floor. We saw big hair, colorful makeup, neon colored shirts and prom dresses from poofy to pristine, feathered hair (on the guys mind you) and yes there were collars popped. The atmosphere was definitely a flashback for all those who remember those good times. Q105 will be having another one so if you missed out this year you'll have a chance to experience the Old School Prom next year.
